Ananta Seva provides Winter Relief to 200 poor villagers in Jharkhali, Sundarban

Kolkata based Ananta Seva Foundation provided Blankets to fight Winter Chill to 200 poor villagers in Jharkhali, located in remote parts of Sundarbans, Coastal Bengal, on Sunday, 3rd January 2021.

The event was held at Ramakrishna Kishore GSS School Ground and attended by a large number of people from adjoining villages. The Foundation also held a Medical Camp to provide free of cost treatment and medicines to the needy. The camp was managed by Kolkata based Mercy Hospital. About 50 villagers were benefitted with the Medical consultation provided by the doctors who attended to the villagers.

Ananta Seva, which started its journey post Amphan Cyclone, has now completed its effort of providing winter relief to the poorest of poor in Sundarban. They have held 7 camps in the past weeks and offered blankets to 2000 families in Hingalganj, Gosaba, Sagar, Piyali, Kakdwip, Patharpratima and Jharkhali.

More than 500 people benefitted from the medical camps which were held concurrently. Apart from Mercy Hospital, Calcutta Rescue and Magma Foundation were instrumental in holding the camps for the poor. The villagers highly appreciated the efforts of the Foundation which works to provide Dignity, Equality and Empowerment to the rural poor.
